The results of my test suprised me a little. Apparently, I am a drifting surfer. The results said that a drifting surfer uses the internet basically just to get necessary information and that a drifting surfer does not rely on digital technology as an essential in keeping contact with others. It also said that I would not have a problem getting rid of my internet or my cell phone. It is true that I do not use the computer as much as most people and I expected my results to reflect this, however, I was suprised that my results showed me as someone who could easily do without her cell phone or internet. I like having a cell phone and I use it often even when I have no reason to use it. I also check my email quite often. Sometimes too often; somedays I get to checking it every few minutes to see if anyone has replied to my messages. Other than this, I do use the internet pretty much only for research. It was interesting to take this test and see my results turn out differently than I expected.
the quiz said that I am an Ambivalent Networker. I completely agree, I am using the computer for very often. whether I am designing an add for facebook or telling my friends about a sale in the store I use my social networking profile everyday at home and at work. The internet has integrated its way into my life in every way work, home, family life, and school. I don't have a problem with it either.

I didn’t really expect to see that I’m an ambivalent networker. I think this is because I hadn’t had the internet until this past summer but then its expected because ever sense I got it and everyone keep telling me about my space and face book I seem to always be on. (My space for old friends mostly and face book mostly family.) I guess I’m ok with it, but there is one thing that bugs me about it, I would be more likely to have a book in my hands then my computer or cell phone.
I was categorized as a drifting surfer. This was surprising to me because my parents are always getting on my case for being on the computer too much. I think that I can spend too much time e-mailing people, facebooking and other stuff and the time can really drain away quickly. But I do like to spend time watching movies or spending time with family and friends so I guess it's not too hopeless. It was enlightening to see that because of my answers, I ACTUALLY survive with out much technology. Which I guess I could do. It would be really hard though. I like being in touch with everything that's going on. I think that's because I'm nosy. :P
Apparently I'm a media mover. I guess it makes sense. I am constantly texting, or posting, or blogging, or something to communicate with people. I just find it very convenient. I may be out somewhere and need to get some info from someone, and it's much easier to text a simple question than call and have a full conversation. It's easier for me to know what's going on with my friends and family too, if I'm not readily avaliable and all I have to do is make a few clicks from my phone or computer. That doesn't mean that I don't like social interaction, or talking to people, because I do. Sometimes it's just easier to do things this way, though. And because I've grown up with technology, I'm used to it. Carrying my laptop, phone, and Ipod with me just seems natural. I feel like I'd be missing out on too much if I didn't have that stuff. It's not like I over use it (ok, maybe texting), it's just like a security blanket.
My results said I am a "Roving Node." It said I am an active manager of my social and work life using my mobile device. Also, I get the most out of basic applications and find them great for dealing with the logistics of my life. I actually agree with the results because I really do everything through my phone. I am never without it and usually always on it. It also said that I am heavily reliant on technology for communicating and gathering information. This is also true because I would be completely lost without my phone or the internet.
I'm apparently categorizes as a Media Mover. I can defnitely see where this would be the case. I'm currently sitting in my papasan chair in my room watching my HDTV on my laptop with Chicken Fried jammin out of my scullcandies. My Blackberry Curve 8900 is less than an arms reach away and I have hotmail facebook 2 word documents and pictures currently open on my desktop. I really enjoy these modern privilidges possibly too much but it's what I like to do so I don't see myself changing.
I was raised in a house that literally has 15 televisions and we have had a computer in the house ever since I was 6 years old and I have grown up using technology and enjoying the advances which one can make through them.
I’m a Media Mover =)
I’m very attached to the internet and I use it for almost everything. If I need help with biology labs, recipes or even if I want to listen to music. I use my computer as a radio and even as a TV. I don’t watch TV that often just because I watch all the shows that I like online. I probably go online more than 20 times a day. Every time I turn on the computer the first thing I do is sign on to facebook. It became an automatic reflex now. I also depend on the internet and phone to keep me close to my friends and family. I feel like without them I’d be so lonesome and depressed. I would probably get anxious if I didn’t have my phone on me at all times. I even put it under my pillow when I go to sleep. I feel safer with my phone with me, I check my purse every few minutes to make sure my phone is in there.
It’s true, just like a Media Mover I use these technologies more for information and communication rather than personal productivity or an outlet for creativity.
The results of my test did not surprise me at all. It said i was creative and I like to share my ideas with others. It also said I use the internet to communicate with others and create new ideas.
The results didn't really suprise me. It said that i use the computer to help me socialize and get information that i need. It also said that if i get a new electronic device that i wouldn't have to have any help with getting it set up the way i want it. This is pretty true. Im always on the computer and the results show that.
I am a digital collaborator apparently. I think it's the nicer version of nerd, but whatever.
I really wasn't surprised by the results. I mostly use the internet to find information, post my art, and chat. I personally think that the internet definitely puts an encyclopedia to shame, because it gives you many different perspectives on one particular subject, all the while hopefully giving you the bare facts.
I also use it to post my art, which is an incredible asset to any artist. It allows us to reference a myriad of pictures strung across the web, and gives us a place to advertise ourselves to the world.
Truly the internet is a great thing, and I'm really proud to be a part of it.
