The mission of Madonna University, a Catholic and Franciscan institution, is to instill in its students Christian humanistic values, intellectual inquiry, a respect for diversity, and a commitment to serving others through a liberal arts education, integrated with career preparation and based on the truths and principles recognized within a Catholic tradition.
I really honestly don't really think that it applies to what I want to get out of my education, however, it is being pushed on me so I will end up having to spend alot of time. These are indeed very good goals for educators and students to strive for to make this more of a complete experience, but not absolutely necessary in my opinion. Maybe it's just because I'm protestant?
I believe that Madonna’s mission statement is uplifting. It’s vital for students to have humanistic values, intellectual inquiry and a respect for diversity. I think these are characteristics we should all acquire because it allows us to treat each other in a more respectful way and we’d be able to understand each other better. As long as we are alive we must keep on learning and inquiring, because there are so many unknowns in this world and it wouldn’t hurt to gain more knowledge. Serving others is also an essential part of life, as we are all Gods’ children and we need to always be there for each other in the times of need. As a university, being able to prepare students for their future career is also important. I hope I’d be able to have all these characteristics by the time I’m done with university or even before that. I’ll be working hard to make sure I do well in school and prepare well for the future.
The mission statements message sets an example for what to strive towards not only in school but out. Three points: Christian humanistic values, intellectual inquiry, and respect for diversity are the key points we should all focus on. I personally plan on trying to incorporate them into my life.
Christian humanistic values, intellectual inquiry, and a respect for diversity are all characteristics that I feel myself and others should gain and achieve. I feel that with these different qualities you can gain a sense of accomplishment in your life and I will do my best to live by what this statement says.
I think Madonna's mission statement is full of wonderful goals. Madonna's identity as a Catholic liberal arts college was one of the main reasons that I chose to come to school here. In a Catholic school like Madonna that is open to Catholics and non-Catholics alike, I have an opportunity to evangelize to others by living out my Faith. I am proud to be a part of a University that offers up Holy Mass everyday and has a great Campus Ministry; I intend to continue as a member of Campus Ministry throughout the next four years. Going back to Madonna's identity as a liberal arts college, I think a liberal arts education will better prepare me for my life after Madonna and provide me with a thorough education that I can rely on and be proud of. I also think that Madonna's goal to prepare its students for their respective careers will be very helpful to me as I get into my junior and senior years and prepare to make the transition from college to the career world. I'm sure that my experience at Madonna, a Catholic college committed to teaching and forming leaders for todays world, will enable me to emerge from college a better person than I was before.
I think the mission statement is actually quite inspiring. It doesn't just say it wants to teach students things, or prepare them for the world, it specifically says what it wants to have instilled in us by the time we graduate. What sticks out to me is the critical thinking. To me that means, among getting a good education, and graduating, they want us to actually be able to 'live' once we get out of school. They want to teach us how to use the skills we've learned in college, and how to survive in the real world.
I can relate to the mission statement because I want to spend my life helping others. Because I am undecided as to what to study, I don't know how I will be doing that yet, but serving is something I am passionate about. Also, college is a whole different life than what I have experienced before, but I know that there is always help available to me if I need it. As to the mission statement translating to my life outside of school, it will help to keep me grounded in the fact that there are a lot of people out there in the world, and I am not even close to being the most important or in most need of help of any kind. It was definitely thought provoking.
The mission statement at Madonna University tells me that in school we will be taking classes on religion which will improve me by making me closer to god. It also says that we will be doing service learning and I think that will help me to become more active in the community and make me want to help people more.
The mission statement has reminded me that I don't stop learning the second I graduate. but Madonna helps instill a motivation to keep learning no matter where I go. This is a perfect mission statement for any student or person who wishes so succeed in life.
Madonna's mission statement is great for any person who is goal oriented. It tells you many things that can all be summed up into one statement saying never stop learning. Take everything in life and use it to the fullest. I think people should take this statement and use it often.
I think that Madonna's mission statement is really powerful and should mean quite a bit to students. It shows that students should take the time to get to know everyone, regardless of their race. I think that not only it is providing students with education, but doing it with Catholic values to help form a person into being the best person they possibly can.
I believe that the mission statement for Madonna isn't going to help me with any of my future jobs, but that said, I think that if may help me be a better person down the road.
I think the mission statement may shape me as a better person, which in a way it has in such a short time, but I don't think it'll help me much with my career path.
Though I've always held the philosophy that one should always try to learn as much as they can, for within knowledge comes better understanding of the world and those around you.
